Background: I so rarely get to link to backgrounds, wow

Personality: JK is an informant, and as such he needs to keep track of a lot of things, and know a lot of people. He’s a social butterfly, making his way through groups of friends and parties. As the extremely social guy he is, he has a huge network where he gets his information. He uses this information to get what he wants, as he exchanges his information for something of equal value. While he has a lot of friends, few of them are real. In fact, until he got to know Gentarou he didn't believe in friendships, so most of the people he knows doesn't really care about him at all. People’s worth was measured by how useful they were, that was his philosophy, and it's not easy forming real relationships with people you've just used for so long, so he's still better at forming shallow relationships, finding it a bit more difficult to really let people in.

It was a type of defence, that view of life. Due to things in middle school he stopped trusting people, and started viewing them as tool. Friends were people that are useful, not people that mean anything to you. He’s scared to make real friends, scared that they’re going to laugh at him the way his middle school friends did when he and Gotou performed in front of them. So without starting any meaningful relationships, he spent his time surrounding himself with shallow people that he didn’t really know that well, yet he called friends. Even with his inability to trust most people, he likes getting close to them, if only physically. He’s got a tendency to invade others’ personal space, to get all up in their face. He makes up for the lack of emotional closeness with the physical version.

To be honest he’s lonely, even though he hardly wants to admit to that himself, and he seeks attention. He wants people to look at him, but only the him that he wants them to see, the one he wants to be. He doesn’t want anyone to see the one he really is; a scared little boy with a lot of problems. He has too low confidence, and too many issues and dislikes himself too much to want anyone to really know the true him. So instead of trusting people he's used them through manipulation, and as he’s quite smart a lot of the time he has developed quite the good skills of manipulation. He’s quick to learn what buttons to push to get the reactions he needs, and he’s good at using words to get what he wants, though it might get screwed up when he’s in a dangerous situation. He doesn't tend to think too much when he's scared.

Now that he finally has friends he's a lot better about throwing other people under the bus, and he honestly cares about the few people who really showed that they cared about him. It's still not easy for him to let his shields down, and emotionally they're never entirely down. He never wants his friends to see him cry, but he's ready to stick up for them, even if he doesn't think himself able to in a fight. JK rarely trusts others, mostly having a great distrust of the rest of the world, and so when he does trust someone that person is important to him and his heart would break if they broke that trust, especially with the lack of real friends he's had, and how lonely he can get.

Even though a lot of his happy demeanour is fake around most people, he really does love parties, hang out with his friends and have fun. He likes to be the life of the party and centre of attention most of the time, even though with those that he truly considers his friends he's okay with letting others be the focus. Especially since it's a club that fights monsters and he's not much of a fighter. He loves to dance, by himself and others, and he especially likes break dancing. It makes him happy and he's easy to be around when he's genuinely happy.

So there are two sides to JK. His public side, the one that parties a little too hard and touches a little too much. And then there’s the self loathing side, that he wants to hide even from himself. That side of himself is slowly, very slowly, getting a bit less aggressive inside his mind, and he's becoming a little bit more happier on the inside.

But he doesn’t hide all of his fears. He’s got a high level of survival instinct (that, and he is quite the coward), which makes him run rather than fight most of the time. He’s a scaredy cat that doesn’t like getting hurt, and he still doesn't like to fight, but he doesn't run away quite as fast anymore. He does stay out of the way though, since he's been the damsel in distress a few times already, and it isn't comforting being face first with sharp claws or the stinger of a scorpion. Though at his current canon point Kengo has forced him into the Power Dizer for the first time where he's forced into fighting.

Alignment: Piphron. He has a very hard time trusting others, so distrust is a core part of him. And when he does trust someone it's very important to him.
